More information about the Chemistry Discipline

Chemistry is the science which deals with molecular and atomic systems especially with the composition, properties, structure, and reactions of a substance (chemical reactions). Chemistry is closely related to physics and it is a branch of physical sciences. The main task of chemistry is to understand the origin of the substance. The composition of the substance is analyzed in atomic level. Atomic-molecular theory is the base of chemistry sciences. Chemistry differs from physics in the case that during physical phenomena the substance does not turn into another (material vary on physical properties only) while during chemical reactions the substances turn into another. There are many branches of chemistry such as agro-chemistry, kinetics, cluster chemistry, combinatorial chemistry, solid state chemistry, nanochemistry, photochemistry and theoretical chemistry. Graduates can work various positions, such as chemical technologists, researchers, chemistry analysts, pharmacists, environmentalists, food technologists, oil and petroleum engineers and etc.
