How can you encourage a particular church and help that church to develop? Church Ministry teaches you how to investigate a faith community and how to detect its needs and possibilities.
Every year, your city holds exuberant celebrations on Liberation Day. As a leading figure in a local church community you are asked to organize an inspiring, open air service for the whole city. It is certainly a challenge. But how can you compose a theologically sound, topical, and authentic service? Who will you ask to join you? As a specialized church minister, pastor or pastoral worker your primary task will be that of guiding a church community. It comprises preparing and conducting services in the church, the religious education of youth and adults, and pastoral care for groups and individuals. Church Ministry is a specialization within the Master's programme in Theology. It can be taken either full-time in one year or part-time over two years. During it, you encounter various working methods. As well as lectures and tutorials, you are given self-study assignments and exercises to be carried out in the working situation of a church.
