The focus of the program comprises comprehensive studies on the whole region, its historical and current political, economic and cultural development, national and international co-operation in and among the countries of the region, as well as the region’s perspectives in the context of European regionalisation and globalisation. Its aim is to produce experts who know the Baltic Sea Region thoroughly and who can provide expertise to companies and institutions.
Each student will study one semester (3rd) at a partner university as part of the specialisation studies. The amount of subject studies in the partner university must be at least 15 ECTS. Students are encouraged to take language studies. The language studies can not replace the compulsory subject studies, but they can be included in the degree as additional studies.
Or, students can replace the studies at a partner university with other studies taken abroad and approved by the executive board. Students willing to take this option present a well-justified application in advance to the executive board, which decides on it.
