The MSc by Research programme aims to provide a combination of instruction and research opportunities, which ensures a strong grounding in ethnological materials, theory, practice, analysis and presentation. Subjects include oral narrative, song and instrumental music, material culture, social organisation, custom and belief, and place names.
Learning Outcomes The MSc by Research in Scottish Ethnology enables students with degrees in ethnology or related disciplines to develop research skills and access unique resources in Scots and Gaelic.
The programme includes research methods, archive and fieldwork training as appropriate, the writing of several pieces of assessed work and a 15,000-word dissertation.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
Take testA good first degree in an appropriate subject, equivalent to a UK 2:1.
