The breadth and interdisciplinary character of such a program equips graduates to work successfully at the interface of engineering and management and to assume managerial responsibility for both technical and business management aspects. With their strong grounding in engineering, such all-rounders are equipped to design and implement customized technological solutions and ideally suited for employment in an international environment in a wide range of fields, from manufacturing and production management to marketing and sales.
The Master´s program in Industrial Engineering & Management targets in-depth knowledge and an active competence in the field of process technology at the Master´s level, with the interdisciplinary character of the program reflected in a curriculum with a substantial project work component based on technical case studies. The Master´s program in Industrial Engineering & Management is a university degree program in which students are introduced to and learn to employ the principles of scientific research. To this end they are given ample opportunity for involvement in applications-based R&D projects. The Diploma or Master´s Thesis required to complete the course is a reflection of the students´ scientific competence.
The Master´s program in Industrial Engineering & Management lasts four semesters comprising a total of 74 semester credit units or rather 1,110 hours of classes. The standard language of tuition is German, although both classes and examinations may also be conducted in English. The semesters run from mid-September to the end of January and from mid-February to the beginning of July. Classes will normally be held on Friday starting from midday until evening and Saturday all-day - Optional block courses / 1 intensive week.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.
