In order to provide especially committed graduates with continued support in terms of their professional and personal development and an attractive further education offering at the post-graduate level for international target groups, the MCI has created a unique university system that permits individual compact study programs to be combined on a modular basis to create Executive Master degree courses.
The international standards applied with regard to admission requirements, course contents, faculty and teaching methods, and a flexible modular program design, a high level of practical relevance, legal status based on a decree issued by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs, and international accreditation by the FIBAA guarantee high quality and acceptance for this study program for a Master of Science in Management (MSc).
Stage I: General Management
During this stage the students obtain a profound insight into current methods, tools and developments in management-oriented business administration. The objective is to communicate the basis of success of entrepreneurial action, structuring, decision-making and leadership and put them into the context of concrete applications.
Stage I is concluded by a three-day business plan competition, which provides for the integrative linking of the main contents of the
first stage and culminates in the drafting of a concrete action plan for a project of the student´s professional environment. A number
of different teams develop a business concept up to the point where it can be introduced on the market, then present their solutions.
Details on the content may be found in the current brochure "Management-Lehrgänge".
Stage II: Specialization in management
Both scientific research and entrepreneurial experience clearly indicate that as a rule, executives are capable of
a generalist management of different disciplines only if they have themselves worked in, and acquired in-depth
knowledge of and comprehensive expertise in, a specific discipline.
Stage II therefore provides for a discipline-related specialization in a core management function, with the possibility
to select one of the MCI functional courses. This enables the students to acquire in-depth know ledge of the substance
of a special field in management. The participants select one of the functional courses below or ask for further specialization.
The following specializations are currently available, although the final program in any one academic year
will be dependent on demand. Basically all students in stage II have the choice between a two-semesters executive
certificate course (classic) and the combination of two one-semester executive certificate courses (compact) which
last between 12 and 15 days.
Within the framework of the Living Case Study, interdisciplinary home groups work on concrete consultancy projects.
This will help the individual participants to improve their insight into inter-functional cooperation, to enhance their
ability to develop comprehensive problems and to gain new professional perspectives. A two-day workshop provides
the students with methodological support while working on the Living Case Study.
Stage III: Management, Psychology & Leadership
The way in which people perceive, register, assess and process information relating to other people, organizations and markets has a decisive impact on their decision-making and their communicative and interactive behavior.
In stage III, students embark on in-depth study of selected aspects of business and organizational psychology against a humanities and systemic-constructivist background and are encouraged to reflect on their own respective management roles.
Stage IV: Scientific Work
The Master´s Thesis, complying with scientific standards, concludes the Master of Science in Management MSc program; the students are expected to address a specific problem of their own enterprise or their relevant professional environment.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
