Launched in September 2009, this new Masters programme offered by the Global Urban Research Centre (GURC) aims to provide students with an understanding of cutting edge conceptual and operational debates in global urban development theory and practice, and to equip them with specialist skills to identify sustainable urban development planning solutions in specific contexts.
Directed by Caroline Moser and Alfredo Stein, the course brings together a team which draws on expertise from GURC staff, as well as from the Institute for Development Policy and Management (IDPM) and the Planning, Geography and Architecture disciplines of the School of Environment and Development (SED).
Course aims * Understand cutting edge conceptual debates in global urban development theory and practice, by exploring analytical approaches and relating these to operational frameworks for policy, planning and programming to promote more equitable and sustainable urban development in cities and towns of the South.
