About the Henley MBA by Flexible Learning
The MBA by Flexible Learning is a part-time programme delivered through a blend of face-to-face workshops, peer group learning team activities, online and offline individual and group self-study methods. Over the 3 years of the programme, individuals study and share experiences with similar experienced professionals from a wide variety of managerial backgrounds. The programme has a number of aims for its programme members, including:
* Developing a strategic, holistic and integrated perspective of business, organisations and management
* Integrating theory and practice through an approach that combines academic rigour with practitioner relevance
* Providing personal development opportunities to support individuals' development of management capability and capacity to work in and lead teams in different situations
The Henley MBA by Flexible Learning - choose the way you study
By offering 2 distinct learning routes Henley gives you control of the way you study. These routes have the same 3 stage structure:
* Stage 1 (year 1) - Managing the organisation (incorporating "Engaging self, organisation and community: The Henley MBA Starter Workshop")
* Stage 2 (year 2) - Making business choices
* Stage 3 (year 3) - Making a difference
The Henley MBA by Flexible Learning - The 3 stages of the MBA by Flexible Learning are delivered through a series of 2 or 3-day face-to-face workshops across each of the 3 years of the programme. This schedule is enhanced by individual and group self-study, all of which support progress to your final MBA qualification.
The Henley MBA by Flexible Learning (International stream)
Not all of you will be able to commit to the regular programme of workshops which support your progress through the MBA by Flexible Learning. The cornerstone of the MBA by Flexible Learning (International stream) is the delivery of a 7-day face-to-face workshop in each of the 3 years of the programme. This schedule is enhanced by individual and group self-study, all of which support progress to your final MBA qualification.
The workshops comprise a variety of core subject modules whilst those in stages 1 and 2 contain a further offering of elective pathways, providing the opportunity for you to develop other areas of interest and expertise. Together these provide powerful tools and decision making techniques designed to develop you for senior leadership positions and improve your effectiveness within your own organisations. You are then encouraged to utilise the broad range of academic resources and information sources available in Henley's online Learning Portal, to take advantage of support offered by a network of Henley-based tutors and to balance further group and individual study with other life commitments.
This MBA programme has been developed in collaboration with APSCo (The Association of Professional Staffing Companies) the UK's leading professional recruitment industry body and leading recruitment organisations. It is built upon the Henley Flexible MBA programme, by adding a bespoke executive programme of workshops and presentations by leading players in the recruitment industry to meet the specific needs of international recruitment professionals. There will also be elective pathways in the core modules which are relevant to the recruitment industry.
Residential MBA workshops at Henley
Both study routes begin with residential starter workshops at Henley, where you will be given detailed guidance and support in order to prepare you for your learning journey. This workshop is tailored to deliver a number of aims including:
* An introductory understanding of Henley's approach to management learning
* Provision of a facilitated and supported period which will allow you to get to know others on your intake and in particular those in your Learning Teams
* How to work with a number of key analysis tools, frameworks and models
* An introduction to key intellectual and academic skills that are essential for your effective learning and progression on the programme
* Introducing the Personal Development element of the programme and outlining the way Personal Development links the 3 stages of the programme
The remainder of the programme is built around core residential workshops and the expectation is that you will participate in all of these, both to enhance your own learning and to support others in your Learning Team.
