This pathway is intended for teachers and other professionals working with students who are experiencing barriers to learning and participation and / or other special educational needs, whether in mainstream, special schools / units or early years settings.
A total of 180 credit points, 120 for coursework and a further 60 credit points for the dissertation are necessary for the award of the MEd degree. You may also select units from other M level programmes offered in the Graduate School of Education or elsewhere in the Faculty. An M-level credit transfer scheme operates for UK graduates. All pathways offer the opportunity for further study at MPhil/PhD or EdD level.
Core Units
* Introduction to Educational Inquiry
plus a minimum of 60 credit points from the following:
* Controversial Issues in Special and Inclusive Education
* Current National and International Developments in Inclusive and Special Education
* How Schools can Respond to Diversity and to Pupils' Special Needs
* Inclusive Education and Working with Parents / Carers
* Including Students' Voices
Remaining 40 credits from the above list or from elsewhere in Masters programmes.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

Applicants will normally have a UK honours degree or equivalent. They will normally also have had a minimum of one year's appropriate professional experience.
Language requirements
