Duration This full-time programme starts in September and lasts one year. The programme can also be taken part-time over 2 years or as a 9 month Postgraduate Diploma.

Overview Data mining, pattern recognition and machine learning are just three of the many applications that we take for granted and that are based on artificial intelligence software. Both the MSc and PG Diploma aim to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to make a valuable contribution to this rapidly evolving and widespread field of software development.

Full-time students take 4 courses each semester and must normally take courses in bold.

Contents

Full time students take 4 modules in semester 1 and 4 modules in semester 2 and must normally take modules in bold.

After semester 2, students continue full time on the MSc project F21MP until the course ends in August.

Postgraduate Diploma Course

The 8 taught modules can also be studied over 9 months as part of a Postgraduate Diploma course with the same title. Students who perform at MSc level on the Postgraduate Diploma course may transfer when it ends to the MSc course and complete their project F21MP for an MSc.

Candidates holding a little less than a 1st or second class honours degree or its equivalent may be admitted to the Postgraduate Diploma course and are eligible for transfer to the MSc course under the normal conditions.

Part-time Study

Part-time study for the MSc over two years is also possible by special arrangement with the course director. A typical arrangement would be for students to take 1 or 2 modules in semesters 1 and 2 in the first year, 1 or 2 modules in semesters 1 and 2 in the second year and split the research and implementation of the MSc project over 2 years.

IELTS

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
