Course structure
This new course builds on our academic expertise and research in the supply chain area. The eight taught core modules are delivered over the three terms. There are 12 hours per week of student contact time and options are taken during the summer term. A dissertation or work placement is also completed over a three to nine month period beginning in July. The dissertation can be either research or project-based. Work placements last for a minimum of six months and involve organisational problem-solving for an employer and a work placement report.

Teaching methods include discussion of case studies, practical exercises, team working, business games and practical work in computer labs. The course also makes extensive use of our virtual learning environment, studentcentral. Assessment is by a combination of individual and group course work and by examination.

As this is a new development, the MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management is subject to validation and is expected to commence in September 2009.
