Location of Heriot-Watt University

The need for quantity surveyors is vital for the efficient financial management of construction projects. The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), in recognition of the demand for these specialists, has adopted the approach of accepting graduates from other disciplines.

As a partner university of RICS, the School of the Built Environment is instrumental in meeting the educational needs of such graduates by building on their previous education and experience to prepare them for the demands of this profession.

For the MSc, students undertake eight taught modules plus the research dissertation. Students on the Diploma course take the eight taught modules only.

The demand for Quantity Surveyors is high and there is consistent competition amongst those wishing to enter and develop a career in quantity surveying in order to gain an internationally recognised postgraduate qualification, such as this MSc from Heriot-Watt University. Successful completion of the course develops the necessary skills to provide a quality benchmark recognised by prospective employers to enhance an individual's career progression.
