The real estate market encompasses a diverse range of residential, commercial and industrial land and property. This programme provides the foundation knowledge and skills needed by future property professionals. Real estate professionals advise on a broad range of areas needed by occupiers, developers and investors. The programme provides the essential learning components of economics, valuation, construction, investment, law, planning, management and development. The programme will develop individual’s skills to allow them to understand the complex interactions and dynamics of the property market including a sound understanding of valuation and appraisal techniques. You will gain an appreciation of the processes taking place within property transactions, development projects and investment funding. On completion of this programme graduates will be able to:

· Convey knowledge and understanding of and apply specialist skills within, scientific, technical and business areas of landed property, consistent with the training requirements of general practice chartered surveyors

· Draw upon a sound foundation of knowledge and understanding of the practices and procedures of surveying and the property industry

· Demonstrate sophisticated intellectual and research skills proficient for a professional career

· Evaluate complex problems and formulate original ideas and proposals relevant to the built environment

· Appreciate the values, ethics, responsibilities and rules governing professional general practice surveying, and the need for professional integrity when advising clients
