The Institute for System Level Integration (iSLI) is a collaborative venture of four of the UK´s leading universities - Edinburgh, Heriot-Watt, Glasgow and Strathclyde. Its prestigious MSc is awarded jointly in the name of the four partner universities.
iSLI offers a modular MSc in system level integration designed specifically for graduates in electronic engineering, computer science, physics and other relevant disciplines. The course has been designed with substantial input from industry and is recognised as the world's first postgraduate qualification aimed specifically at engineers working in leading edge hardware and software domains.
The MSc concentrates on the understanding of the process of SoC design, the use of IP blocks and the architecture of modern electronic systems.
Each student is assigned their own desk and computer situated within an open plan work area with access to industry design tools.
Successful students graduate with a joint degree of iSLI´s partner universities of Edinburgh, Glasgow, Heriot Watt and Strathclyde. This prestigious qualification reflects the strength of collaboration between the academic partners and the importance they attach to this subject. During study students will be matriculated at the University of Edinburgh and will graduate there.
