The programme aims to provide a rigorous postgraduate and management education which will help you become an effective professional or manager, giving you a thorough understanding of management techniques, marketing, accounting and finance, human resource management and strategic management. You will also undertake a supervised research project on a topic relevant to your own interests or future career plans
This programme is designed to prepare you for a wide range of careers in business and management and is particularly suited to those with little or no work experience since graduation.

What can this course lead to?
This demanding but rewarding 1 year full-time programme will give you the general business knowledge and understanding as well as the personal skills needed for a wide variety of roles in junior and middle management.


Contents

The programme aims to -
Provide a programme of study that enables you to develop relevant knowledge and understanding of management, leadership and business practice derived from the three key themes.
Develop your lifelong learning skills and continuing personal development Provide a learning environment that is responsive to your needs, and supports and guides your progression.

Modules
The philosophy of the programme derives from the principles of reflective practice and experiential learning. You will engage with principles and theories of business, management and organisation to provide you with frameworks for reviewing, reflecting, analysing and critiquing existing individual and organisational practices. You will also develop new knowledge and skills to enable enhanced and more appropriate practices.

Modules you will study (Autumn semester):
Autumn semester consists of three modules and one triple module which runs through all semesters.

* HRMD 7002 Managing Self & Organisations
* ACFN 7005 Managing finance and accounting for postgraduates
* MGMT 7001 Contemporary Business Strategy

Modules you will study (Spring semester):
Spring semester consists of three modules and one triple module which runs through all semesters.

* HRMD 7001 Development and Strategy
* ACFN 7001 Managing Operations
* MKTG 7006 Develop the Customer Proposition

The dissertation is a triple module running throughout the year

* MGMT 7000 Dissertation

Applicants will be expected to hold a good Honours degree, though this does not have to be in a related subject area. EU and overseas applicants appropriate equivalence will apply.
Applications without standard qualifications must demonstrate-
• the capacity for theoretical debate
• a high level of motivation
• the capacity for independent study
• the ability to achieve the proposed programme of work
• students for whom English is not their first language must have achieved IELTS level six English language qualification.
