This course is designed to meet the needs of business students seeking to gain the skills and knowledge they need to analyse business problems and decisions as part of their career development. This is our major postgraduate pathway and it provides a ladder of learning opportunities and qualifications, with several entry and exit points.

What can this course lead to?
The Certificate is a good qualification for those undertaking their first supervisory roles, and the Diploma is a recognised qualification for middle managers. Anyone completing this course will be well equipped for general management roles and have a strong base for career development. Successful completion of the Diploma allows entry to the part-time MBA, which requires one further year of study.

Contents

Lectures explain the main ideas, concepts and problems in management, while seminars are an opportunity for deeper debate about the issues. Student experience is a vital contribution to the course input. Workshop sessions put the ideas into practice.
Diploma course: Part time students will attend 1 afternoon or evening per week.

Modules
The course covers a range of management functions, including the management of people, marketing, finance, information and operations.
