Graduate degree programme in Journalism and Media Analysis is aimed at preparing qualified and responsible journalism professionals having professional skills not only to produce informational content, but also critically and analytically assess communication processes in the context of changing media and socio-cultural environment.

Upon completion of the graduate programme in Journalism and Media Analysis, graduates will acquire the following knowledge and skills:

1. To analyze the functions of journalism, as a structural element of the media system, in a democratic civil society.

2. To explore the processes within media and public space on the national and international level and to assess them in a broader socio-cultural, economic, political and historical context.

3. To evaluate transformations of media systems in the context of globalization and mediatisation, analyzing the information content, audiences, technology and organizations.

4. To apply qualitative, quantitative and comparative research methodology and empirical data collection techniques in communication and media research.

5. To apply techniques and methods of gathering, selecting, evaluating, writing and editing news, while using different types and sources of information, given the media users and different channels.

6. To demonstrate solid knowledge of systems of media regulation, standards of journalistic ethics, and communication culture differences; and to apply the principles of socially responsible journalism.

7. To work with various information sources, identify news values, do interviews, prepare reports, analyze, summarize, raise good problem questions.

8. To develop multiplatform communication projects, using relevant technical equipment and software and taking into consideration media’s aesthetics and genres.

For Master Degree Programme:

* The prospective students are expected to have a Bachelor degree in the fields of social sciences or humanities with some experience in professional journalism, text editing or publishing.
* Good knowledge of English language

1) Approved by "Appostille" - for citizens of countries acceding to the 1961 Hague Convention;

2) Legalized by the Center of Quality Assessment in Higher Education (in Lithuania - for other countries citizens;o Proof of English proficiency (TOEFL, ELTC, etc.);

* Letter of motivation (300 - 500 words);
* Curriculum vitae;o Notary certified copy of your passport or other document of identification;
* Copy of document showing paid application fee 50 EUR (where the name of the applicant and the date of payment are indicated);
* 1 recent passport size photo (3 x 4 cm);
