Location of University of Geneva

Aims: advanced expertise in the field of socio-economics; mastery of tools and concepts necessary for the critical analysis of interactions between society and economy, on the level of structures as well as processes, with an eye to optimizing such interactions.

Course Structure: obligatory courses and seminars (30 credits), optional courses (30 credits) in population studies, development and inequalities between North and South, economics (social, internatinal, etc.), gender issues (e.g. gender and the labour market), social and spatial issues, methods (qualitatives and quantitatives). From theory to practice by way of research (thesis) or by practical enhancement of know-how on the interface between. Studies and professional activity (internship): 30 credits.

Some optional courses are available in English.

Requirements

Bachelor or Master in Economics and/or Social Sciences, or degree considered equivalent; Bachelor or Master in another field and successful completion of a reorientation course worth between 30 and 60 credits.
