Location of University of Geneva

This graduate program is designed to train conference interpreters to perform simultaneous or consecutive interpretation in a chosen linguistic combination at the highest level conferences and meetings and to study interpretation theory and practice.
During this program, consecutive and simultaneous interpretation courses are given a priority position alongside other vital subjects for professional expertise, including theory of interpretation, parliamentary procedure, conference terminology, and institutional institutions.

Graduates with a Master of Arts in Conference Interpretation from the School of Translation and Interpretation are recruited by international organizations such as the UN, the European Union, or find work on the private market both as free-lance or staff interpreters.

Language: A combination to be chosen from the following languages: Arabic, English, French, German, Italian, Russian, Spanish.

Length of programme: 3 semesters

ECTS credits: 90


Requirements

Candidates must hold the bachelor's degree in multilingual communication or degree considered equivalent by the School, have spent at least four months in a country whose official language figures in the candidate's linguistic combination, and successfully pass written and oral examinations.
