The Italian Institute is divided into two sections, Italian Literature and Italian Linguistics, which can offer a complete and comprehensive education in Italian studies. The aim of the MA programme is to convey a deepened knowledge in Italian language and literature to the students; they become acquainted with the most important techniques and instruments of linguistic and literary analysis and apply them in exemplary studies on subareas of Italian linguistics and literature. The didactic programme covers four systematic-methodological areas of study: •Synchronic linguistics •Diachronic linguistics •History of Italian literature •Methods and techniques for the study of Italian literature The Institute offers stay abroad programmes (ERASMUS) with the universities of Bologna, Naples, Palermo, Rome and Turin.
