The core course examines the contemporary politics of culture at different levels: from issues of citizenship, multiculturalism and migration, through the politics of race and class, to discussions on cultural and artistic production, labour and social activism. The optional courses can be selected from several departments and centres (Anthropology, Cultural Studies, English, Media and Communications, and Sociology), integrated in the Contemporary Cultural Processes Scheme.
The interdisciplinary approach uniquely enables you to select courses from the participating departments and to structure your studies and specialise according to your interests. The emphasis on cultural theory will be balanced by the use of ethnography as a method. Our objective is to give you the tools to build your own critical understanding of the cultural politics of the contemporary world, in ways that can inform your academic career, your artistic and cultural practice, and/or your political engagement.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
