Designed with flexibility in mind, MA Business offers an individually tailored study programme which can help you to supplement your previous degree with a postgraduate Business qualification or to specialise in a chosen business field at a higher level.
You can choose your own key modules to construct a personalised Individual Programme of Study (IPOS). The MA Business builds on your previous experience to develop a programme that helps you to achieve your goals in your chosen career.
IPOS schemes allow you to negotiate your own programme of study, combining modules from related programmes with independent study and credit for prior learning and work experience. You may also integrate work-based learning into your IPOS via a negiotiated learning contract.
This is a particularly flexible way of gaining a qualification that can be tailored to meet your specific needs.
Contents
A dissertation or major work base project must be undertaken as part of this course and the Research Methods and PDP modules are also specific requirements. You can create your own pathway from the whole range of modules offer at graduate level at the Faculty of Business & Law.
Typically each module will consist of a mix of lectures, tutorials, group and individual activities, workshops and case study analysis. Where possible students will be given opportunities to relate the material covered. The students themselves are an important resource for the route and will be encouraged to share their experience and knowledge. Simulations and presentations will help develop skills of group working, problem solving and communicating.
The flexible nature of this programme allows you to achieve a change in your career path or to enhance your current path or vocation. The programme is the stepping stone to the career of your choice in a variety of professional areas of business.

One of the following: A first degree or equivalent; a postgraduate certificate or diploma in a related subject; evidence of prior uncertificated learning, or a mix of sub-degree qualifications and uncertificated learning equivalent to graduate level. International applicants should have a working knowledge of English equivalent to IELTS band 6.
International students will need to meet the University's English Language requirement which is IELTS 6.0 with no skills below 5.0, or equivalent.
