Designed for aspiring finance professionals, this course will nurture an understanding of the developments in, and the relationships between, specific areas of finance such as interdependence of national and global economics.

The course provides a comprehensive education in finance for students from a variety of backgrounds, including those who have not previously studied the subject. You will study six core modules focussing on finance, including a Dissertation, as well as Personal Development Planning and one optional module, helping you explore other areas of finance..

The MSc Finance has a strong international dimension and we attract students from around the world.

On graduation, you will be able to seek employment in financial management, sectors our recent students have found employment with include, the financial sector, financial services, international trade and corporate finance.

Students will complete a dissertation which allows you to apply your knowledge to an area of you choice within finance. The dissertation is 15,000 to 18,000 words in length and a Research Methods module will be delivered to support this.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

Requirements

Applicants are normally expected to have a UK first degree or equivalent, however a HE Diploma plus work experience may in some cases be acceptable. Evidence of numeracy is also required. English Language to IELTS score of 6 or equivalent, is required for those for whom English is not their first language. Accreditation for prior learning can provide exemption for up to three modules. Qualified finance professionals would normally gain maximum accreditation/exemption.

International students will need to meet the University's English Language requirement which is IELTS 6.0 with no skills below 5.0, or equivalent.
