Critical studies entail lectures, seminars, workshops, visiting artists or masterclasses which will introduce the student to the large spectrum of current ideas and positions in contemporary (audio) visual arts and the intellectual debaye that surrounds them. In contrast these ideas one can apply own knowledge, skills, creativity and ambitions in the Studio practice and the master's diploma project.

The master programme of visual arts mainly different for the Studio components, for this is where one specializes in a certain artistic field (graphic design, photgraphy, fine art,...). The work one produces should indicate a personal and original vision, an investigatory approach and advanced technical and production skills.

The master's degree diploma project marks the completion of your artistic output and consist of the production of an visual work under the form of an exhibition, demonstration or presentation which one will present to the jury (in- and exterrnal professionals) at the end of the academic year.
Also it has to be supported by a written dissertation, in which one contextualizes the project: one may question ideas, concepts, frames, arguments surrounding the artisitic practice. The dissertation functions as a catalysist for the actual realisation of the work by reflecting on the implicit and explicit research processes and methodologies.
