The aim of this MSc programme is to facilitate students to acquire key practical skills in the ecological assessment of terrestrial and freshwater habitats and ecosystems in order to meet a growing demand for personnel skilled in methods of ecological assessment and to ensure that this process is underpinned by a sound, scientific, theoretical framework.
The programme will be run in discrete blocks to allow those already in employment to continue their job, in a modified form, while pursuing the MSc Degree.
The MSc (Mode 2) programme will consist of twelve taught modules with lectures, practicals, seminars, workshops, field study and self-directed learning. There will also be a substantial Research Project (AE6017).
Each of the taught modules will be examined by a written paper and/or continuous assessment. Candidates of the MSc (Mode 2) programme must submit the Research Project (AE6017) in an area of Ecological Assessment by September 1st in the academic year of registration for the programme.
