Location of Politecnico Di Milano

The International Master of Science programme in Architectural Engineering is offered by the VI School Engineering and Architecture (Facoltà di Ingegneria Edile-Architettura) of the Politecnico di Milano. It is totally taught in English for each of the two years, with the possibility, during the second year, to follow optional courses in Italian.
The general educational aims given the worldwide presence of the building sector are to train a professional engineer for the job market, who shall be able, thanks to her/his interdisciplinary education, to identify problems and seek suitable designing solutions. The design will be up-to-date with the dynamics of the sector innovations, in order to improve building quality in its physical, technical, procedural and economic values and performances. In particular, the goal is to train a professional engineer able to effectively operate, within the competences set by the law, in different fields such as:

* the design of complex building systems, considering technological, structural, environmental aspects, together with urban and architectural design concerns;
* the concern to issues such as indoor comfort, materials´ and components´ durability, energy, safety and environmental impact;
* the development of the building process, in its operative, economic and managerial aspects;
* the management of technological and production processes related to the building sector (new and existing buildings);
* the innovation related to building technology;
* the testing and quality controls of products and buildings.

Students will be also included in internship programs in architectural firms and companies of national level.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

Requirements

The essential admission requirements for the Master of Science programs are as follows: - 12 years of pre-university education- A bachelor degree or equivalent or 180 ECTS - For Master of Science taught in English: TOEFL (minimum scores: 560 paper, 220 CBT, 82 IBT) or equivalent, First Certificate (minimum score: C) or IELTS (minimum score 6) NOTE: only English mother tongue students and those who can prove that English was the medium of instruction of their Bachelor Degree (at least for 3 years) are exempted from providing any English language certification. In this last case, students are required to send a document certified by the university attesting that their programme was entirely taught in English. - Italian Language Certificate for Master of Science taught in Italian
