In the 21st century, internationalisation of the fashion industry continues unabated. From value retailers to middle-market fashion leaders and luxury designer brands, the international activities of fashion companies continue to be the focus of attention for consumers worldwide. With supply chains getting ever faster and trends constantly changing, responding to this changing global marketplace is a major ongoing challenge.

This programme, the first of its kind in Wales, offers an academically challenging and practically relevant approach to fashion marketing in an international context. You will gain a solid grounding in the key areas of contemporary fashion marketing management and an introduction to the latest concepts and ideas that are relevant to the modern marketplace. The MSc draws on the extensive practical and academic knowledge of our staff, so you will benefit from our extensive research activity in these areas.

How You Will Study
You will benefit from a business school environment at our Treforest campus. Full-time students study each subject intensively over a period of several weeks. The part-time delivery provides a more flexible approach for practising marketing managers and fashion industry professionals.

You will learn through lectures, seminars, group work, case studies and analyses of contemporary fashion marketing materials, as well as specialist guest lectures from leading industry professionals.

Assessment is solely assignment-based, so you can explore each subject in depth to develop your critical and analytical skills. The final requirement is a dissertation or business research project where you will examine an aspect of international fashion marketing in depth.

How does this course make me employable?
This international fashion course is driven from the prespective of producing graduates who have an awareness of the significant issues facing fashion organisations and modern marketing practice.

The course is underpinned by systems which drive today’s fashion market with an emphasis placed on brand, branding and social networking. Providing skills and knowledge which are highly valued by the employers of today.

Through a series of guest lectures delivered by leading fashion industry experts, students gain up to the moment insights into the challenges and practices pertinent to fashion organisations of today.

Requirements

A 2:2 minimum Honours degree or an equivalent qualification, or, three years’ or more related managerial or marketing experience. If you already hold the CIM or CIPR Professional Postgraduate Diploma, you can gain significant exemptions.

English language requirement
International applicants will need a good command of English – the equivalent of an IELTS score of 6.5 or TOEFL score of 575 or more, or computer-based TOEFL 233, depending on the course you are studying.
