This course embraces a wide range of disciplines for students keen to develop their area of personal investigation.
Students will be able to draw on our facilities and expertise in painting, drawing, digital media, photography, sculpture and printmaking.
Critical and historical studies form an integral part of the course to enable you to contextualise studio practice in seminar papers and presentations. The course emphasises supervised independent learning, personal responsibility, reflection and critical evaluation.
You'll be encouraged to share your knowledge, experience and perceptions. The course also promotes intellectual enquiry, conceptual clarity and a high level of practical and technical ability, which will develop and intensify your subject knowledge and transferable skills.
The course follows the established model of a 48-week academic year for all full time students, who are allocated dedicated studio spaces.
If you wish to study part-time, we'll expect you to establish an appropriate working space within a reasonable distance from the university. You'll be visited by staff in your studio, and must attend seminars at the university on a regular basis.
