Effective human resource management and development has the potential to create competitive advantage for organisations. As a subject area, it is concerned with how an organisation goes about managing, leading and developing people. This is both challenging and complex for HR specialists and managers alike, particularly in an international context.

This course is designed to enable you to assess the nature, role and contribution of the human resource function in organisations. The teaching team engages students in developing strategic thinking and awareness, applying human resource systems and practice, and developing critical and reflective thinking in this field.
You will gain experience of studying and learning with people from different nationalities, cultures and backgrounds, who share a common interest in the management of human resources.

Our expert tutors with commercial experience as both practitioners and consultants will help encourage an innovative approach to learning, teaching and assessment. You will have the opportunity to develop skills in research and critical analysis that will contribute to both postgraduate study and organisational life.

This programme of study also provides the knowledge requirements for membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), the UK professional body for HR professionals.
