Location of Central European University (CEU)

The Department of Political Science focuses on several areas of political science, with a special emphasis on comparative politics. The curriculum examines questions of political theory, democratization, constitutional politics, political economy, mass media, electoral behavior, party politics, research methodology and European politics. In 2009, the department received a five-star ranking in Europe from the Center for Higher Education Development.

Master of Arts in Political Science (Two Years)

The program is designed for students with a three-year Bachelor’s degree in political science or a related discipline. Students have the opportunity to explore comparative politics, political economy, political communication, and political theory.

Career Paths

Graduates of the department pursue doctoral and post-doctoral studies at leading European and US universities, or find employment in politics, political analysis, the media, civil service, international non-governmental organizations and research organizations, business and government.
