The M.Phil. in Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation is a creative and innovative programme designed to suit the needs of specialists already working in the fields of conflict resolution and reconciliation, as well as those new to the study of conflict resolution and reconciliation.

Courses are offered at Trinity´s specialist cross-border School in Belfast, as well some options at week-long residential courses at the Glencree Centre for Reconciliation in County Wicklow, and through TIDES at Corrymeela in Ballycastle on the north Antrim coast.

The programme allows students to take a broader joint-course in both Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation Studies, or a distinctive specialisation in either area. In order to accommodate professionals, the Conflict Resolution specialisation is delivered through week-long intensive courses (in Belfast, Wicklow and Ballycastle).

The programme offers students a unique opportunity to live and study in a society in a process of transition from violent conflict. The programme is designed to integrate advanced scholarship and research with experiential learning.

Students can specialise in named Master courses in either conflict resolution or reconciliation, or pursue broader studies in a joint Master course across both areas. The Master in Conflict Resolution offers additional specialisation in practical skills for working on conflict issues with groups or individuals, and is designed to meet the needs of both experienced practitioners and those wishing to move into this field. The Master In Reconciliation Studies offers an inter-disciplinary approach to social research, politics, theology and ethics and is excellent preparation for further Ph.D. study. The programme equips graduates for work with local and international organisations, and provides transferable skills for a wide variety of careers, including mediation, diplomacy, policy, advocacy, journalism, teaching, and ministry, as well as Ph.D. research.
