Trinity College continues to play a pioneering role in initiating new programmes in the computer and information systems domains. The innovation of this part-time evening Master´s programme has evolved from the University´s wide experience in presenting courses in this field. It responds to the need for higher level professional and management skills within the IT Sector as identified by the Expert Group on Future Skills needs.
This programme supports Trinity College´s commitment to continuous professional development and lifelong learning within the IT Sector. In doing so, the programme also complements the existing successful part-time diploma/degree courses offered in this area.
Delivered by the Department of Computer Science there is a lively interaction with business, industry and the public service which fosters links and maintains contact with key developments and research in the field. Throughout this programme students contribute to this research.
This course aims to provide students with the knowledge and skills to undertake senior professional managerial roles within the Information Technology (IT) sector. It brings together the latest research coupled with the best internationally accepted management practice and relates these to the needs of today´s organisation.
The student is actively encouraged to develop intellectual curiosity by engaging in the study of relevant management practice together with the exploration of grounded theoretical models and perspectives. The acquisition of new knowledge and professional expertise equips the student to adopt and develop new theoretical frameworks in the practical management and application of information systems.
On completion of the M.Sc., students will be equipped with the professional knowledge, expertise and competencies required to assume more senior roles in the IT sector.
The course is a two year, part time, evening programme. Each year is comprised of two 12-week semesters.
The programme is also divided into two streams:

The dissertation is approximately 20,000 words which is submitted in September of the second year. Each student is assigned a supervisor with whom (s)he will work during the period from February to September.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country. Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test. More information
Applicants for the programme must normally hold a good Honors Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar disciplines. Relevant professional experience is also desirable.
It is assumed that prospective students will already possess a reasonably solid grounding in the technologies and techniques of the IT domain. Applicants may be interviewed.
