Year One - 60 ECTS credits
The first year of the course consists of high level taught courses where students choose from a range of options including specialized research courses.
Year Two - 60 ECTS credits
During the second year, students can join world class research groups based at a SEPnet university or a partner institution. The areas of research available are :
Theoretical and Experimental Particle Physics, Photonics, Astronomy, Nano-Technology, Quantum Matter, Theoretical and Condensed Matter, Applied Optics, Forensic Imaging, Functional Materials, Atomic and Molecular Physics, String Theory, Accelerator Science, Nuclear and Radiation Physics, Low Temperature Physics, Neutron and Synchrotron X-ray scattering, Quantum Information Processing, Biodiagnostics, Medical Physics, Cosmology, Quantum Optics, Ion Cavity QED, Molecular Ions, and Quantum Field Theory.
SEPnet has links with leading edge research institutions and students may find themselves in sought after locations such as CERN, Switzerland, or the UK's Rutherford Appleton Laboratories, ISIS, Diamond, or the National Physics Laboratories. Our team of British and international academics, many leaders in their field, encourage students to fully utilize these opportunities by developing individual programmes of study and research.
There are some SEPnet scholarships available, which cover tuition fees and may provide up to €13,000 towards living expenses. If this is something you're interested in, please let us know when you apply.
