This course will help you work with clients to solve their problems more effectively, and will provide you with frameworks to develop your own consulting practice.

The programme covers 11 key consulting capabilities (listed under the 'In detail' tab), and is intended for professionals and experts involved in, or about to become involved in, consultancy practice. This includes those in small and large firms, specialist and broad service practices, sector-based consultants, those building their own consultancy practice, and internal consultants. It is also suitable for those in roles where consulting skills and problem solving are essential, for example, project leaders, accountants and technologists.

Three stages of postgraduate study (certificate, diploma, and master's degree) allow you to progress as far as you want, or to step in and out to suit your professional and personal commitments. The design is ideal for delivery in the workplace as a jointly delivered professional development programme.

Grounded in professional expertise and experience, this practice-based and client-focused programme is designed to add value to a consultant's own unique and valuable expertise.

This programme will help you work with clients to solve their problems more effectively and provide you with frameworks to develop your own consulting practice. The course covers 11 key consulting capabilities in:

* advocacy and influencing
* leading and facilitating change

* creating and levering knowledge value
* developing new services and solutions
* building a robust consulting practice.

The MA in Business Consultancy is designed for professionals and experts involved in, or about to become involved in, consultancy practice, including those in both small and large firms, specialist and broad service practices, sector-based consultants (including public sector consultancy), those building their own consultancy practice and internal consultants. It is also valuable for those in roles where consulting skills and problem solving are increasingly important, for example, project leaders, accountants, technologists, solution architects and business analysts.

This part-time programme has been designed in three stages (postgraduate certificate, diploma, and master's degree) allowing you to progress as far as you want, or to step in and out of the overall programme to suit your commitments. The programme design emphasises the application of capabilities on ongoing client projects within your business, maximising the synergy between work and learning.

The programme is built around core consulting capabilities that will appeal to consultancy firms and other employers, whether their need is to upgrade existing capabilities to enable a consulting-led sales and delivery business model, or to accredit your practitioners' expertise or development programmes.

The design is ideal for delivery in the workplace as a jointly delivered professional development programme. On-campus teaching is delivered at Brookes' Wheatley Campus.

You should have a degree, or equivalent professional qualifications or experience if without a degree. It is important that participants have prior expertise and experience to bring to the course.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

Requirements

You must have prior professional expertise or experience. You should also have a degree or an equivalent professional qualification. If you don't have a degree or an equivalent professional qualification, but you do have substantial, demonstrable professional expertise and experience, you may be considered for entry on that basis.

If English is not your first language you will need to satisfy the university's English language requirements.

* IELTS minimum level 6.5 overall with at least 6.0 in the reading and writing components
* TOEFL score of 90 or above (internet-based), plus 4.5 in TWE.
