Location of Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama

The programme is designed for individuals who already have some experience in event production and who can show a proven commitment to working and studying in this area. The training will provide you with the skills and experience essential to
becoming a skilled practitioner in the field of live event production.

The first year is an intensive full time programme consisting of taught modules and practical production work. The college´s calendar encompasses 300 public performance events each year including live events, orchestral concerts, dramas, opera and musical theatre. As a student you will work on these live events including a trade show, a fashion show and a series of summer balls and parties. Within this year you will also undertake a six week industry placement which will be tailored to suit your career aspirations.

On successful completion of the first year you will be eligible for a Postgraduate Diploma qualification. You can then begin working on the second part of the MA Event Production, the Professional Practice Portfolio. This is a flexible, part time programme based within industry.

Practical and academic support and mentoring is provided either onsite at the college or through distance learning methods. This allows you to choose employment in any location worldwide. During your professional placement you will construct a reflective portfolio based on your experience. On completion the portfolio will be submitted for the MA Event Production award.


IELTS

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

Requirements

Typical entry requirements include a degree or equivalent qualification with relevant practical experience. However, consideration will be given to those with no formal qualifications but with significant practical experience. Candidates must have a proven desire to work in the live event industry.

Final selection is made on the basis of an interview.
