Location of Cardiff University

This programme of study is designed to develop a comprehensive understanding of the institutions and practices of governance in the devolved Wales. In addition to focusing on politics and governance in Wales, the programme locates developments in Wales in a broader UK and European context, providing also an overview of relationships between the various levels of governance.

The programme is divided into two parts, both of which allow students to specialise in their chosen areas of interest. Part one consists of research-led taught modules that include core courses on the institutions of devolved governance in Wales and generic research skills as well as a choice of specialist modules. Part two requires the research and writing of a dissertation on a subject of the student´s own choice, under the supervision of an expert in the field.

Special features of this course:

* Ideal preparation for those seeking a career in and around the institutions of devolved governance in Wales
* The Cardiff School of European Studies is one of the joint sponsors (with the Cardiff Law School) of the Wales Governance Centre.
