The ongoing success of the air transport industry has made been possible by rapid technological advances and associated high investment, resulting in demands for an increasingly skilled workforce. More recently, industry liberalisation and privatisation in many parts of the world has led to increased competition, spurring further gains in efficiency and a continued decline in air fares. In today's rapidly changing air transport environment the industry requires access to advanced and comprehensive knowledge, coupled with an in-depth understanding of its needs.
The Executive MSc Air Transport Management is designed to equip you with the skills required to either enhance your present career or to allow you to pursue a new career path with airlines (in operations, marketing or engineering), airport authorities, civil aviation departments, air transport consultancies or aerospace companies .

You will be taught by the largest academic group in the world specialising in air transport management. This multidisciplinary group includes a unique blend of air transport economists, marketing specialists and aeronautical engineers with strong publication records and industry experience.
Students registered on the course complete eleven modules, an air transport case study and a research thesis.
These elements must be completed within the 3-year registration period.
Students are required to start the course with a 2-day induction programme followed by the first module, Regulatory Policy and Air Law. The course is completed by following a set sequence of modules:

Year 3 – students choose 2 out of the following optional modules:
* Airport Business Management
* Air Transport and the Environment
* Air Transport Engineering (Maintenance Operations)
* Airline Fleet Planning
* Airport Operations
Most of the modules are run over a 5-day period, starting on Monday and finishing on Friday. Specific dates for modules are available on request.
Air Transport case study
This is an extended piece of coursework intended to provide the opportunity for students to incorporate skills learnt during the course and to apply these skills to solving an air transport case study problem.
Research thesis
The thesis is an opportunity to study a problem in detail and sponsoring organisations or the student’s company may cooperate in the choice of a suitable subject
Assessment
Modules are assessed either by a piece of coursework or an examination. Students would normally be required to sit examinations in Cranfield campus. However, there is the possibility for overseas students to sit examinations in their local British Council offices.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
