As part of the Contemporary Cultural Processes Scheme, the MA benefits from an expanded choice of option courses. In addition to two options from within a wide range of Sociology options, you are able to choose courses from across a range of participating departments, allowing you to tailor the degree to your individual interests.
The two core courses are taught within the Department of Sociology, and provide an introduction to critical contemporary sociological conceptualisations of culture, presenting opportunities for the development and exploration of interdisciplinary perspectives on the analysis of contemporary cultural processes. You also study four option courses. Two of these must be chosen from Sociology; two may be taken from the Departments of Anthropology, English and Comparative Literature, and Media and Communications. You also write a dissertation, guided by a supervisor.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
