Location of Wageningen University

Water technology is offered as specialisation of MSc biotechnology and Msc chemical engineering at Wageningen University and University of Twente and University of Groningen, respectively.

The specialisation is a joint responsibility of three Dutch universities, who have combined their expertise. Water technology is offered as specialization of MSc biotechnology and Msc chemical engineering at WU and University of Twente and University of Groningen. The focus of this specialistion is on development and design of all kinds of water processes. The main added value of the programme lies in the multidisciplinary use of biotechnology, chemical engineering and separation technology. The aim is to integrate knowledge of several disciplines, based on physical, (micro) biological, chemical and electrochemical principles. WU focuses on water technology within the field of Biotechnology (bioreactors, microbiology). Students are challenged with examples and case studies of real (research) problems that they might encounter as water professionals. They also operate in an inspiring environment of a major Water Technology research programme at Technological Top Institute Wetsus. Students of Wageningen University develop themselves into specialists in Water Technology with knowledge of the relations between water technology and the other specialisations of Biotechnology.
