Requirements

Professional Experience

This is a pre-experience, professional practice programme. We do not accept applicants with more than a year of work experience (excluding vacation employment and internships).

The programme is designed for graduates who have not previously studied business and management. If you have previously studied business and management (at single or joint honours level) you will not be eligible for the programme. As a full-time course, the programme requires the completion of any current training or education course or release from your current institution for the duration of your study.

Undergraduate Achievement

A very high standard in a degree course of equivalent level to a UK Bachelor's degree with honours. In most countries this is a first degree (Bachelor's, Licentiate, Vordiplom) but from some countries a Master's level degree may be required. The minimum standard required is a First Class Honours or equivalent, which translates in most countries into 'A' grades. (From the USA we expect a CGPA of 3.7/4.0, and from China we expect an average of 90%).

English Proficiency

Applicants to the course need to be fluent in English and we assess fluency in the following ways:

* if English is your native language.
* or you have an IELTS minimum overall score of 7.5, with not less than 7.0 in each element. The separate components must have been taken at the same time and in the past two years.
* or you have a TOEFL minimum score of either: * 110 in the internet-based test (iBT), with not less than 25 in each element
* 637 in the paper-based test (pBT) with 5.5 in the Test of Written English (TWE)

The separate components must have been taken at the same time and in the past two years.

Not yet taken IELTS or TOEFL? Test result out-of-date or not up to the required standard? Don't worry, you don't have to include your English language test scores with your initial application documents; they can be forwarded on later in the process. If you are made an offer, one of the conditions of entry will be getting the required standard of IELTS or TOEFL test score.

Maths and stats proficiency

While the programme does not assume a high level of mathematical knowledge, if you don't have a mathematical background we recommend you prepare for the programme by studying mathematics and statistics (to the level of A-level/final year in high school) before the programme starts. The delivery of the MPhil in Management is by lectures and workshops, and those of you who need extra support may benefit from arranging additional private tuition.
