The MA in International Business develops specialist knowledge and skills in managing business internationally. Critical analysis of the complex and volatile economic, political, cultural and competitive environments is mapped to the intents and operations of business.
The international mix of students ensures that you will gain valuable exposure to the differences in expectations, interpretations and values, which are typical of management teams in global companies.
Research centres that support the course include the Centre for International Capital Markets, Transport Research and Consultancy, the Centre for Leisure and Tourism Studies, the Management Research Centre and the Centre for Equality Research in Business. The University's provision in Economics, Business and Management was rated 'Excellent' in recent subject reviews by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education.
Careers
Completion of the course will enhance the promotion prospects of those working in international business, or those seeking a career in a multinational company. Recent graduates have begun work with Johnson and Johnson (logistics), Procter and Gamble, and other large companies. You may also apply to develop your dissertation topic into an MPhil/PhD course.

You also undertake a dissertation of between 12,000 and 15,000 words. You will also have the opportunity to learn a language through the University's Open Language Programme.
Assessment
The teaching team supports and favours assessment through a variety of methods such as group and individual presentation, coursework, group work and examination.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
