This programme is based in the Department of Statistics. It provides high level training in statistics with applications in the social sciences, finance and econometrics. Students learn to analyse and critically interpret data, build statistical models of real situations, and use statistical software packages.

Benefits of the programme include:

* Study in a Department with an international reputation for teaching and research in statistics for the social sciences.
* The opportunity to study related subjects taught by other departments in the School.
* Excellent opportunities for employment and further study. Former students have taken up positions in consulting firms, banks and in the public sector. Many go on to take higher degrees.
* Graduates of the MSc are awarded Graduate Statistician (GradStat) status by the Royal Statistical Society.
