The programme offers a range of courses designed to provide an appreciation of the role of law within the developing concept of sustainable development. It educates students in legal aspects of sustainable development at international, European, national and local levels and enables students to undertake advanced legal research and writing in this field.

Students must complete three further courses and a dissertation. At least two courses must be taken from the list below. The third course can be taken from a different LLM Programme. The number in brackets indicates the semester in which the course is taught.

Assessment is based on a combination of written examination at the end of the relevant semester and one or more course essays. In some courses the course essay counts for 25% of the total mark. In addition, students must complete a course in research methods and a dissertation on a topic within the specialism. Guidance on the writing of a dissertation is given.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
