The main objective of BIODIV is the training of specialized scientific staff able to comprehend the subject of biodiversity conservation and be supplied with the necessary tools and methodologies to confront and practically solve problems of biodiversity maintenance. Special emphasis is given to biodiversity issues of the Mediterranean region in the framework of the global change. The graduates of the M.Sc. Program may either continue in research, pursuing a Ph.D., or work in the public or private sectors in France, Greece or elsewhere.

The duration of studies is four academic semesters, corresponding to 120 ECTS. The Programme includes lectures, seminars, practicals, and the preparation of the Thesis of Specialization. The first (winter) semester of studies starts in mid-September and is offered in Montpellier, France. The teaching language is French. The second (spring) semester starts in mid-January and is offered in Mytilene, Greece. In Mytilene, some courses are taught entirely in French and others entirely in English. The thesis of specialization is carried out during the third and fourth semesters.

Thesis of Specialization (60 ECTS)
The Thesis of Specialization is carried out in collaborating academic or research institutions in France, Greece or elsewhere. It is written in English or French in the form of a paper ready to be submitted in a scientific journal.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
Take testUp to 30 postgraduate students are accepted each year, graduates of internationally recognized Higher Education Departments of Science, Agronomy, Polytechnic or equivalent, from European or other countries, possessing 180 units of the European system ECTS. The selection process is based on the CVs of the candidates and if it is required by a personal interview.
