This masters degree will:

* explore the relevance to education today of ethics, political philosophy, philosophy of the mind and epistemology

Requirements

Entry requirements

A good first degree, including some study of philosophy or a related subject, and experience of some form of educational work. If you do not meet these requirements, you may be able to qualify through special procedures, which might involve some form of qualifying work, such as an essay.

Language proficiency: If your first language is not English, the Institute will need proof of your proficiency in English. We will accept the following evidence:

* IELTS (7.0 overall - with 6.0 for writing and 6.5 for reading)
* TOEFL (650 - paper-based test; 280 - computer-based test; 114 - internet-based test)
* Cambridge Certificate in Proficiency of English (Grade A or B)

If you have achieved a score of at least 5.5 in reading and writing modules of IELTS or 500 in TOEFL but are unable or do not wish to resit an English language test, your may enrol for our presessional course in English for Academic Purposes. Please see for more information.

Visas

Overseas students made an offer of a place will require sufficient time to gain a visa to study in the UK. We advise early application at least six weeks prior to the start of the programme. If your application is received later than this we will usually consider it for the next available entry point.
