Aims
This masters degree will:
* introduce you to ways of critically analysing educaton policy within a broad social, economic and political context
* familiarise yourself with contemporary developments in education policy in institutional, local, national and global contexts
* explore existing policy issues and practices
* enable you to apply the insights provided to your own experiences

* study major and topical themes within social science (such as globalisation, markets and managerialism) with a particular emphasis on their effects on and relevance to education

Duration: one year full-time, two years part-time.

A good first degree in sociology, political science, economics or another social science subject. and a teaching qualification or relevant profesional experience
Language proficiency: If your first language is not English, the Institute will need proof of your proficiency in English. We will accept the following evidence:
* IELTS (7.0 overall - with 6.0 for writing and 6.5 for reading)
* TOEFL (650 - paper-based test; 280 - computer-based test; 114 - internet-based test)
* Cambridge Certificate in Proficiency of English (Grade A or B)
If you have achieved a score of at least 5.5 in reading and writing modules of IELTS or 500 in TOEFL but are unable or do not wish to resit an English language test, your may enrol for our presessional course in English for Academic Purposes. Please see for more information.
