The MSc in Supply Chain Management and Purchasing (SCMP) provides a unique opportunity for acquiring a specialist qualification in the area of supply chain management, combined with a generalized one in Project Management. This MSc programme is designed for practicing professionals, mid-career managers and graduates seeking specialised training in the complementary fields of Purchasing, Supply Chain Management and Project Management at managerial level.

Contents

The MSc programme is currently delivered in the campuses of Lille and Sophia Antipolis where it follows a different rhythm and length, as described below:

Lille campus

  • Academic year: 12 months

  • Internship/ Dissertation: 6 months

  • Rhythm: 1 week classes followed by 3 weeks in a company

Sophia Antipolis campus

  • Academic year: 8 months
  • Internship/ Dissertation: 4 to 6 months
  • Rhythm: 8 months of classes followed by 4/6 months in a company

Whatever the campus, the MSc programme follows the same structure. It covers the whole span of supply chain activities from planning, purchasing, receiving, production, store to delivery through 9 compulsory courses and 4 elective courses. It is designed with a progressive shift from theory to practice. Specific courses are structured around project-based learning, where students are immersed in companies in order to deal with real life supply chain and purchasing issues.

  • Fundamentals of Production Planning (including Basics of Supply Chain Management certification), 45h, 6 credits
  • Supply Chain Information Technology and Tools, 30h, 4 credits
  • Risk Management in the Supply Chain, 30h, 4 credits
  • Fundamentals of Procurement and Purchasing, 30h, 4 credits
  • Advanced Sourcing, 30h, 4 credits
  • Project Management (including MS project, CAPM® certification in Sophia/ PRINCE 2 in Lille foundation level), 45h, 6 credits
  • Transportation & International Logistics, 30h, 4 credits
  • Lean Quality Management (Lean Six Sigma), 30h, 4 credits

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

Requirements

In order to apply for a one-year MSc program you must satisfy the following requirements:

  • Have a four-year degree or equivalent (or, in some cases, a three-year degree plus substantial professional experience)
  • Have a good score in one of the following English language tests: TOEFL (580 written test / 237 on computer aid and 92 on Internet), TOEIC (830), IELTS (6.5) or equivalent
    Note: no English language test score is required for students who have a degree from an English-speaking University.
  • A GMAT or GRE score will be to the candidate’s advantage
