The scientific study of businesses revolves around seing them as social and organisational systems in which behaviour is conditioned by economics.
All elements of af business is relevant to the unterstanding of that business. This counts for both internal relations and external relations to the organisational context. On Business Studies you work with analysis of a number of different issues around the business' use of human, economical and natural ressources. This offers several possibilities and perspectives to the study of the business ranging from a sociological angel to a more market oriented analysis of the business and its functioning.
As a student on Business Studies you get a thorough introduction in theories and methods for understanding the specific business. On top of this you get an opportunity to specialise in different fields of business studies based on interests.
A combination bachelor with Business Studiess as one of the subjects will qualify you directly to the master's programme of both Business Studies and Economics and Business Administration.

Bachelor module: The functions and ressources of the firm
The aim of the bachelor module of Business Studies is to give the student a fundamental understanding of the firm and it's function, and of the methods and theories that are relvant for the study of the corporation. In addition, it is the aim of the module to give the student a theoretical and methodological basis for the economic evaluation and use of the different resources of the firm. The project should deal with a problem selected by own choice in relation to general business theory, organisation, leadership, technology and innovation, finance and economic management, marketing and sales, external accounting or business law.&nb
1. masters module: The development, organisation & management of the firm.
The modules of the master programme have the aim to give the student the insight in the organization and in the internal and external resources and functions of the firm. This include the following topics:
* Marketing and communicatin
* Globalization and Business Policy
* Corporate Governance, ethics and responsibiltity
* Business law and econimcs
* Innovation, technology and experience economy
* Organisation and knowledge
* PR, legitimacy and brands
* Managment, strategy and organisatin
* Finance and investments
* Human resource management and business culture
2. masters module: The economy, administration and strategy of the firm.
The aim of the mdule is that the student must independently and with a high academic level combine the obtained knowledge from the bachelor module and 1. master module. The student must give a mature and reflected understanding of the economy, administration and strategies of the firm. It is also the aim to complete the master programme while giving the student an insight in the newest business theory.
You can complete 2. master module in 3 ways:
* The thesis is written in your other subject and your 2. master module will therefore be structured as 1. master module.
* You are writing an integrated thesis, and you must therefore complete courses of 15 ects at both your subject.
* You are writing your thesis at Business Studies.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

Admission to the bachelor module:
Students must complete one of RU basic studies programmes and pass the speciale course in Business Studies and BSc to continue their studies at Business Studies.
Admission to the master programme:
When you complete your bachelor degree at RU and want to continue on a master's degree at RU directly after your bachelor, then you must be aware of the new and very early deadline for admission.
Admission for external bachelors
In order to be admitted to the master programme, you must have a bachelor degree within the field of study.
