* To understand the processes of health/illness and their causes from the point of view of the population.
* To deal with health problems by means of collective measures to promote, protect and restore health.
* To identify the health needs of the population.
* To develop health policies and social measures to maintain, protect and promote health.

* To acquire the basic knowledge in order to carry out epidemiological and public health research.

Theoretical Modules

* Compulsory master's degree subjects (20 ECTS credits)

Internship The master's degree in Public Health collaborates with the most prestigious public health institutions so that its students may develop their thesis project in a suitable environment. Some of these collaborating institutions are the following: the Department of Health, the Barcelona Public Health Agency, the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), the Catalan Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Research (AATRM), the Centre for Research in Environmental Epidemiology (CREAL), the Hospital Consortium of Catalonia (CHC), , the Health Studies Institute (IES), the Municipal Institute of Medical Research (IMIM-Hospital del Mar), and the AIDS and Society Foundation, among many others.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

Requirements

Candidates for acceptance to the Master in Public Health must provide accreditation that they have obtained or are in position to obtain an accredited undergraduate degree (Bachelor degree or recognised equivalent degree from an accredited Higher Education Institution). Degrees in any academic field of study will be accepted.
