Whiskers sensitively guide the tiger on his path in the darkness of the jungle - but not only nature provides such an amazing sensor solution: Sensor technology is an exciting field of science and engineering as well as a rapidly growing branch in modern industry. The AIMS program offers a very unique chance to learn about this challenging topic in a professional environment, formed by institutes of applied research, global industrial champions and high-tec startup companies.

Your curriculum will be enhanced with specific knowledge, international Competence and practical experience that will open the door to leading positions in your professional career.


Contents

The program contains courses such as Nanometrology, Sensor Technology, Computer Based Measurement, Methods of Instrumental Analysis, Photoelectric detection and Digital Signal Processing.

The duration of the full time study program is of 2 years (4 semesters), up to 120 ECTS to be obtained, including credits for practical internship.The first two semesters are theoretical coursework - one of them in Coburg and the other one in Shanghai -, the third semester is a practical internship in a company and the fourth semester is designated to the master's thesis.

Two summer schools make the students acquainted with novel developments and applications in the field of the study program.

There are also opportunities to study AIMS sidelining the job in Germany. Please contact individually for this option.

Requirements

- Bachelor degree of engineering or natural sciences with at least a "good" or equivalent final grade

- Proven proficiency in the English languag (Toefl, Unicert, IELTS)

- Professional experience of at least one year (exemptions are possible in special cases, but they will have to fulfil this requirement before graduating from the master program. In this case they will have to submit a concept how they are planning to arrange it.)

- Applicants with these requirements will be invited for a telephone interview
